Fun fact: in high school, I joined cross country but would throw up every run because of my eating habits. My community makes it easier now to stay disciplined and focused.โฃโฃ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐จ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ก๐๐ฆโฃAlthough itโs a 5K, I committed to running 3 miles as I train. Setting and sticking to this goal has been crucial in keeping me on track. I start off with a destination, then randomly go for a more scenic route. Somehow, I always arrive back at home right in time to finish 3 miles.โฃ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐๐ฒโฃYour body will always let you know what you arenโt doing to nourish it. I paid for an arm band which I didnโt like, considered new AirPods because Iโm down to only one, and even thought about getting new shoes although I have many. But I realized I already had what I needed.โฃโฃ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ โฃIโm proud of my time, but more proud that I finished. You donโt need a strict timeframe or timeline. Consistency only works if you do. ๐The thing about taking up space is that if you want to continuously feel more comfortable taking up space, then you have to do it more consistently. And I know when we typically think about taking up space, we think of it in one moment, in one instant. While that is definitely important, what are you doing on a daily basis that is ensuring that you are taking up space for yourself that you can do consistently? For me right now, that's enjoying a slow morning, enjoying being outside, getting in exercise, eating a great breakfast, and making sure that I'm taking up the space for myself to be PRESENT for the rest of my afternoon and the rest of my day. You have to show up for yourself. ๐ฏYou have to be consistent. ๐ฃ๏ธYou have to know that if you're afraid of people hearing the same message over and over and over again, you're taking up space for the wrong reasons. Take up space for you, period. How are you taking up space today?

5๏ธโฃ simple yet effective things I do to maintain my productivity levels:๐ 1. Close unnecessary tabs - the amount of visual noise tabs can create is, for me, sometimes unbearable. That's why you'll never see me with +10 or 20 tabs open, especially if they're unnecessary.๐ค 2. Set boundaries - You don't need to be mean, rude, or unhelpful, but you do need to set your own boundaries. If you get easily distracted or lost in the process, tell people to wait until you're done with your task before helping them, or just don't answer that message right away.๐ถ 3. Music or no music? I've come to understand how and what kind of music can help me become more productive. If music doesn't do it, but I need to silence all the noise around (especially working in an open space) airphones that cancel the noise can be it.โ 4. Taking breaks - No, they do not make me unproductive. It is actually helpful for me to take a break, not even physically but also mentally, as I come back with some new energy and refreshed thoughts. โก 5 - Understand at what % I'm at - Some days my 100% is my other day's 40%. And that's what I give, with the same compromise and focus. What are some things you do to stay productive? Let me know ๐ง

On Mondays...We start! Today, I want you to start focusing on what you are supposed to do.โDo what YOU are supposed to do.โ These are the words my mother used to tell me when I was growing up. It was in response to me telling her what such and such was doing or me complaining about something that I thought wasnโt fair. This statement still anchors me and helps me quickly refocus. Itโs so easy to lose focus with so many distractions. Distractions are no longer someone walking into the room or people talking loudly in a space. Distractions are in our hands every day, and we constantly and willingly distract ourselves. Here are six things you can start doing to focus and get things done:1. Schedule a block of time to untether from your phone. Place your phone in a different room or use the Do Not Disturb feature (allow messages from people who may need your attention in case of an emergency).2. Prioritize your tasks. Do what MUST be done first, and then order accordingly.3. Remove tasks that you KNOW you arenโt going to do or that donโt align with your goals and purpose.4. Delegate tasks that you KNOW someone else can do better and more efficiently.5. Place yourself in an environment where you feel comfortable, safe, and inspired. I like being in a room where the sun is shining through the window, or I can enjoy the rain. Both are beautiful.6. My personal favorite: Turn on a playlist of music that motivates you or pumps you up. It wonโt even feel like youโre working! I love listening to older R&B and hip-hop.Stay committed to doing what you are supposed to do, and watch how much more you can accomplish. Letโs make this week a great start to your journey of focused productivity. You are fully capable!

It's Friday, and you know what that means!Time to end the week strong and set yourself up for success next week. As Brand Manager of Rope!, I've found that Fridays are a crucial day to make a real impact. Here are 10 things I try to do every Friday to ensure I finish the week strong:1. Exercise early in the morning for a shot of adrenaline2. Look back at what I've accomplished during the week for positive energy3. Finish what's left on my to-do list4. Send colleagues any final bits they need to get their work done5. Have a team meeting to celebrate each person's accomplishments and plan for the next week6. Check in with each team member to see what they have planned for the weekend7. Start organizing my to-do list for the next week8. Confirm the one fun thing I'm going to do over the weekend9. Smile because I added real value for another week10. Share my positive energy with others who may be worn outWhile it's not always possible to get through everything on Friday, this approach has worked well for me over the years. Each person has a unique approach to work, but generally, having a plan is key to success. What tricks do you have for Fridays?
