How We Found The Best Vegan Dress Belts For Men

A vegan lifestyle doesn’t end at the checkout line at Sprouts—it extends to every piece of your minimalist men’s wardrobe.

Much like the best vegan wallets, finding suitable vegan belts for men is one thing, but finding those that also meet the rest of our sustainable and ethical fashion is another entirely.

So, how did we find the best vegan belts for men?

Materials:

Our search for vegan alternatives led us to vegan leather belts made from, first and foremost, NOT animal skins.

The most sustainable belts were those made of recycled materials (like fire hoses), cork, and bio-based microfibers.

While our list includes belts made from polyurethane as a more sustainable alternative to PVC (the most toxic and environmentally damaging type of plastic), we acknowledge that it is still a form of plastic and not exactly one of the most sustainable fabrics.

Supply chain and labor practices:

We look for brands supporting everyone involved, whether it’s in the sourcing, manufacturing, or shipping process.

That means looking for living wages, zero discrimination, and healthy working conditions.

While we didn’t find any notable men’s vegan belts made in the USA, we did find plenty made in the EU, which also has far stricter labor laws than many Asian countries where so much manufacturing takes place.

It’s vital to avoid greenwashing, so we sought out brands with clear Codes of Conduct and certifications that support their claims. However, it’s worth mentioning that even trusted certifications like B Corp have faced criticism, so they shouldn’t be a sole substitute for transparency.

Carbon commitments & green practices:

Brands with an unwavering commitment to sustainability through green energy, carbon offset programs, closed-loop manufacturing, repair/recycling initiatives, sustainable shipping practices, and eco-friendly shipping materials are at the top of our list.

Community & charitable giving:

Finding brands supporting social, environmental, and animal rights is the icing (and the sprinkles) on the vegan cake.

Final Thoughts On Vegan Men’s Belts

Whether you’re looking for a simple, black vegan leather belt for men or something a little more fancy, these sustainable men’s clothing brands are keeping you (and your rear) covered.

Many of them even offer lifetime repair and recycling programs, helping you get the most out of your purchase—but remember to do your part by only purchasing from them if you really need to.

And once that old vegan belt is full of loose holes that no longer keeps the buckle in place, see if you can find something secondhand à la online thrift stores first.

Did you catch a friend with their pants down?

Send them this list, so they can support their trousers, animal rights, and the environment in style.
